Tributes have poured in for the actor Richard Kiel, best known for his role as the steel-toothed villain Jaws in two 1970s James Bond films, who died yesterday aged 74.
The statuesque 7ft 2in actor portrayed the mercenary assassin Jaws in the 1977 movie The Spy Who Loved Me and the 1979 thriller Moonraker both opposite Sir Roger Moore as Agent 007.
Kiel died yesterday afternoon at a hospital in Fresno, California, according to a report on Wednesday by TMZ.
Sir Roger Moore, 86, took to Twitter to express his grief at the sad news, posting: 'I am totally distraught to learn of my dear friend Richard Kiel's passing.
'We were on a radio programme together just a week ago. Distraught.'
He later added: 'Can't take it in'.
Former NFL player Carl Waethers, who appeared in 1996's Happy Gilmore and 1978's Force 10 from Navarone alongside Kiel, tweeted: 'RIP Richard Kiel. Had the pleasure to work with you twice. #BePeace.'
American actress, Barbara Eden, who appeared with the actor in the sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie, also wrote: 'Many fond memories of Richard Kiel, sweet man & gentle giant. My thoughts & prayers to his family & friends. -Barbara.'

Kiel was a patient at Saint Agnes Medical Center and his death was confirmed by Kelley Sanchez, director of communications at the hospital.
The towering star recently broke his leg and received treatment at the medical center, according to TMZ.
A cause of death has not yet been reported.
Kiel's other memorable film and television performances included imposing boss Mr. Larson in Happy Gilmore starring Adam Sandler, lethal assistant Voltaire in The Wild, Wild West and the extraterrestrial Kanamit in the memorable 1962 The Twilight Zone episode To Serve Man.

The Twilight Zone episode that he starred in famously ends with a cryptologist sharing the true nature of the alien's To Serve Man tome as she revealed: 'It's a cookbook!'
He also portrayed a prisoner who played a bruising game of football against the guards in the 1974 film The Longest Yard starring Burt Reynolds and was a killer in the 1976 comedy Silver Streak starring Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.
His character Jaws ranks among the top Bond villains alongside Goldfinger, Ernst Stavro Blofeld and Rosa Klebb.
Jaws was known for his enormous size and strength plus those sharp steel teeth that he could use to bite through cables and to chomp on the neck of his victims.

Moore, who played the fictional British secret agent in seven films, wrote an August 2012 article in MailOnline about his favourite Bond villains.
'The most memorable of all, however, has to be Jaws, sidekick to the evil Karl Stromberg in The Spy Who Loved Me,' Moore, 86, wrote in the article.
'Jaws was played by my good friend Richard Kiel, who stands 7ft 2½ in. Jaws got his name from the ominous, glinting steel teeth he wore, of course. Poor devil, they were so uncomfortable to wear – Richard could only keep them in for about half a minute at a time,' Moore wrote.
Bond movie producer Albert R. Broccoli has been credited with adding steel teeth to the Jaws character for The Spy Who Loved Me.

Earlier this year, Kiel told the Daily Mail: 'To this day, I go out in sunglasses and a hat because people will shout "Hey, Jaws!" at me from across the street.
'The only way I can explain it is that he's like the Road Runner, which Coyote keeps trying to blow up, but he keeps going.'
Before finding fame as a Bond villain, Kiel got his career breakthrough starring as Voltaire to Dr. Miguelito Loveless in The Wild, Wild West in 1965.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Kiel made his acting debut in the television series Laramie, in an episode titled Street Of Hate.
He suffered a severe head injury in a 1992 car accident that affected his balance and forced him to walk with a cane, as shown in his appearances in Happy Gilmore, or use a scooter to get around.

Moore in his 2009 memoir My Word Is My Bond described how Kiel was starkly different from his Jaws character.
'Richard is so kind, so gentle,' Moore wrote of his co-star.
Kiel's abnormal height and distinct features were a result of a hormonal condition called acromegaly that is often associated with gigantism.
Kiel published an autobiography in 2002 titled Making It Big in the Movies.
He also co-authored the 2007 book Kentucky Lion: The True Story of Cassius Clay about the politician who worked for the abolition of slavery.
In 2009, Kiel worked with former Star Trek actor, Robert Picardo, on horror science-fiction film, The Awakened.
Today Picardo tweeted: 'Rest in peace gentle giant Richard Kiel. I am so glad we met through our mutual friend Mr. Marlowe and had the opportunity to work together.'

Couple 'got underage babysitter high on drugs and had sex with him'

Mold Crown Court heard that Nicola Mason (left) from Rhydwyn in Holyhead, North Wales, stripped off in front of the boy and then forced him into a sex act while John Ford watched (right), it was claimed
Nicola Mason (left) from Rhydwyn in Holyhead, North Wales allegedly  stripped off in front of the boy and then forced him into a sex act while John Ford watched (right), it was claimed

A 24-year-old woman and her 46-year-old boyfriend got their 15-year-old babysitter high on party drug meow meow and then pressured him into sex, a court has heard.
Nicola Mason from Rhydwyn in Holyhead, North Wales, stripped off in front of the boy and then forced him into a sex act while John Ford watched, it was claimed.
The boy was embarrassed and initially refused the advances but prosecuting barrister Myles Wilson said he eventually gave in.It was alleged that he was given the party drug to loosen his inhibitions. The couple each deny sex charges against the boy, who is now 16, and have accused him of 'making his story up out of thin air'.
'The prosecution case is that the first defendant Ford gave the 15-year-old male boy drugs and pressured him to have sex with his partner, the second defendant Mason,' Mr Wilson told the jury at Mold Crown Court.
'Both these defendants, in effect, took advantage of a 15-year-old lad who was a virgin at the time. He lost his virginity by being pressured into it, with John Ford looking on.'
The first time was when the couple returned home after a night out.
The boy was on the sofa and took the view that they were under the influence, or drugged up.
Ford was alleged to have told the boy Mason 'was off her head' and 'you can do anything you like with her.'
Mr Wilson said that the boy felt nervous and out of his depth but Ford told Mason to strip off, and she did in the front room.
He claimed that Ford was persistent, almost taunting the boy, by saying 'you must be gay then' when he kept refusing the advances.
Eventually he said 'ok' and Mason undressed him, with Ford watching on it was alleged.
The prosecutor claimed that Ford had also offered him some cannabis.
The boy was at their home again two to three weeks later.
'It is important for you to realise that the prosecution case is not that he was forced completely into something that he was desperate to avoid. It is not as black and white as that,' Mr Wilson told the jury.
'The prosecution case is that he was under age and he was taken advantage of by grown adults who quite frankly should have known better. He was just 15.'
On the second occasion, he alleged that the defendants did not waste any time whatsoever.
When he arrived it was claimed that Ford took him upstairs to the main bedroom where Mason appeared naked.
She got onto the bed and it was alleged that Ford told the boy 'that's your bitch' and 'you can do anything you want.'
Initially the boy said no, he did not want to go through with it, particularly in front of Ford.
But Mr Wilson claimed that Ford would not take no for an answer.
So the youngster ended up having sex in front of Ford with Mason on the bed, it was alleged.
On this occasion, it was alleged that Ford had given him the illegal party drug MCAT.
'The prosecution say that what makes this worse is that Ford gave the boy drugs no doubt to try and gain his trust or loosen his inhibitions,' Mr Wilson told the jury.
'It is the prosecution case that the defendants liked to involve other people in their sex lives,' he added.
'There will be evidence from other witnesses including a good friend of Ford that this is something they did, that Ford would encourage and let other men have sex with Mason,' he claimed.
The matter came out when the boy told his older brother. A woman who was looking after him at the time then heard about it and went with a friend to confront Mason.
The prosecution alleged that Mason broke down and admitted it had occurred, and claimed Ford had forced her into it.
She spoke to Ford on the telephone, and was alleged to have said: 'It is too late John, I have told them, I have told them everything.'
The witness listened on the phone and it was claimed that Ford, believing he was still speaking to Mason, said 'shut the f*** up Nicola' and 'you had better shut your mouth.'
It was the prosecution case that a friend of Ford's had asked him about rumours he had heard and that Ford was alleged to have admitted to him that it took place.
But arrested and interviewed, the both denied that any such thing had happened or that anything sexual had occurred with the boy.
They now accused the boy of 'making it up out of thin air'.
In evidence the boy denied that he was a street wise lad but agreed that he had given evidence in the crown court previously as a defendant in a case of perverting the course of justice.
Ford denies two charges of inciting the child to engage with sexual activity with Mason and Mason denies two charges of sexual activity with a child.
The trial continues.

7 Afghan men sentenced to death for raping a pregnant woman at gun point

The seven men who gang-raped four women on August 23, stand trial in court in Kabul

The government of Afghanistan yesterday handed the death penalty to seven men on for raping and robbing a pregnant woman and three others returning from a wedding.
This rare case of sexual assault has shaken the capital and raised concerns over public security at a time of transition.
Police said a large group of men, some dressed in police uniforms, and with assault rifles, stopped a convoy of cars in which the women and their families in just outside of Kabul in district of Paghman. They dragged four women out of the cars in the middle of the night and raped them in the field near the main road. One of them was pregnant. The victims were also beaten and their jewellery and mobile phones stolen.
Crimes against women are common but mostly take place inside homes in Afghanistan's conservative society.
But a gang rape by armed men is rare in Kabul and has tapped into a vein of anxiety as foreign troops leave the country and a badly stretched Afghan army and police fight a deadly Taliban insurgency.
Judge Safihullah Mujadidi in a summary trial, televised nationwide, convicted the men of armed robbery and sexual assault.
'Based on criminal law these individuals are sentenced to the severest punishment which is death sentence,' he said.
The men stood before him in a heavily guarded courtroom. Outside dozens of activists gathered demanding speedy justice to instil public confidence in law and order.
'This kind of gang rape is unprecedented in Kabul,' Kabul police chief General Zahir earlier said in his testimony seeking summary punishment for the men.
The assault has led to such outpouring of rage that President Hamid Karzai told a delegation of women last week that the perpetrators would face the death penalty.
The men can appeal Sunday's verdict in a higher court. Karzai has to ratify the executions under Afghan law.
'If this act goes unpunished, the women of Afghanistan will continue to be victims,' said Uma Saeed, a rights activist.
'This is really very significant moment, I would say, even maybe in the history of Karzai's government.'

Chef bitten to death by snake head 20 mins after it was cut from its body

A chef preparing a dish from cobra flesh died when the snake's head bit him - 20 minutes AFTER it was cut off.
Victim Peng Fan had been preparing a special dish made from the Indochinese spitting cobra, a rare delicacy in Asia where eating snakes is commonplace.
But when he went to throw the serpent's severed head into the waste bin, it bit him - injecting him with its fast acting venom.
Police say Mr Peng died before he could be given life saving anti-venom in hospital.
Diners who were eating in the restaurant at the time have described screams coming from the kitchen as the tragedy unfolded.
Restaurant guest Lin Sun, 44, who was in the restaurant with his wife Su at the time said: "We were in the restaurant having a meal for my wife's birthday when suddenly there was a lot of commotion.
"We did not know what was happening but could hear screams coming from the kitchen.
"There were calls for a doctor in the restaurant but unfortunately by the time medical assistance arrived the man had already died. After we heard that we did not continue with our meal."
A police spokesman said: "It is a highly unusual case but it appears to be just an accident. He prepared the snake himself and was just unlucky.
"There was nothing that could be done to save the man. Only the anti-venom could have helped but this was not given in time. It was just a tragic accident."
The snake was being diced up to be made into snake soup, which is a delicacy in the area and a much sought after dish in high-end restaurants. China has seen a rising demand for snake products, not only in restaurants but also for use in traditional medicine.
Snake expert Yang Hong-Chang - who has spent 40 years studying cobras - says all reptiles can function for up to an hour after losing body parts, or even their entire body.
Mr Yang said: "It is perfectly possible that the head remained alive and bit Peng's hand. By the time a snake has lost its head, it’s effectively dead as basic body functions have ceased, but there is still some reflexive action.
"It means snakes have the capability of biting and injecting venom even after the head has been severed."
The Indochinese spitting cobra - or Naja siamensis - is also known as the Thai or black and white spitting cobra.
It's found in south east Asian countries including Cambodia, Laos, Burma, Thailand and Vietnam.
Adults average 3ft to 3.9ft long but can reach a maximum of 5ft, and are found in lowlands, hills, plains, woodland and jungle. It mainly feeds on rodents, toads, and other snakes.
Primarily nocturnal, it is more likely to flee when threatened during daylight. At night it becomes more aggressive, display its hood and spit out venom.
Death is caused by paralysis and consequent asphyxiation, but even if the snake only spits venom in a victim's eyes they can be permanently blinded.
The fearsome reptiles require careful handling to avoid tragedies like this. The video below shows the same species of cobra having its venom extracted at a zoo.
Mr Peng was from Shunde, a district in the city of Foshan in southern China's Guangdong province. Residents of the province have a long history of enjoying snake meats of all sorts in local culinary dishes.
For many centuries it has been commonly served up in a soup, and is also taken as part of Chinese medicine, for it is believed that snake meat can cure ailments.
It's part of a 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' concept - the more poisonous the delicacy, the more beneficial it is seen as being to the body.
One local said: "Snake meat is really good for us. It is not so easy to get and is expensive but it has spectacular health benefits.
"I have never heard any cases of a dead snake killing anyone, especially not in the kitchen."

'Hand of God' meets Man of God: How Pope received Maradona at the Vatican

Maradona was among a list of stars that met Pope Francis today before the 'football match with peace'
A glittering list of football stars, including arguably one of the greatest players of all time, Diego Maradona, met Pope Francis yesterday ahead of an inter-religious charity match.

Ahead of the game this evening, Pope Francis was presented with an Argentina shirt by the man known to many for his 'Hand of God' in the 1986 World Cup quarter final defeat of England.
At the time of fellow Argentinian Pope Francis' election in March, Maradona remarked: 'Everybody in Argentina can remember "the hand of God" in the England match in the 1986 World Cup. Now, in my country, the "hand of God" has brought us an Argentinian pope.'

Pope Francis was presented with a personalised Argentina shirt by legendary striker, Diego Maradona
The players met the Pope prior to the 'football match with peace' this evening at the Olympic Stadium in Rome, that was organised to promote world peace and understanding.
Maradona was joined by former players such as Carlos Valderrama (famous for his distinctive blonde mop), Roberto Baggio and Zinedine Zidane, as well as current stars including Lionel Messi and Andrea Pirlo at the Vatican.
The game is part of the Pope's call for 'dialogue' in times of religiously motivated wars and to promote a diplomatic solution to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The idea for the match arose in April 2013 following a conversation between former Argentine player Javier Zanetti and Pope Francis.
Speaking in the build-up to the match, Zanetti said: 'When I spoke with Pope Francis about this project, it was a big concern for us to do something for world peace.
'I think the fact that so many stars have joined in can help professional football support peace.
'Although the game is raising money for charitable purposes, the most important thing we want to do is spread the Pope's message of peace to the world.'
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Argentina manager Gerardo 'Tata' Martino will manage the two teams tonight.
The two teams, named PUPI and SCHOLAS will be captained by Zanetti and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Wenger's involvement has been criticised by Arsenal fans who think their manager should be trying to buy a striker before the transfer window closes tonight instead.

Man who inspired the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge celebrates birth of 1st child

Pete Frates pictured taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge: His wife Julie, in the black dress, gave birth on Sunday to a baby girl they are calling Lucy
The man who inspired the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the viral sensation which is raising money to fight Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), has become a new dad.
Pete Frates announced on Sunday that his wife, Julie, had given birth to Lucy Fitzgerald Frates, a healthy baby girl who weighed 7 pounds 8 ounces.
‘Little Lucy Frates has arrived and Mom, Dad and Lucy are perfect,’ Frates wrote on his Facebook page.
Frates, 29, who lives in Beverly, Massachusetts is a former captain of Boston College Baseball.
In 2012 he was diagnosed with ALS – also known as Lou Gehrig's disease – a degenerative disease that hits the nerves and the brain and can lead to paralysis and death.

There is no cure, though a treatment now available can extend the life expectancy for its sufferers.
Since his diagnosis, Frates has devoted much of his time to raising awareness about the condition and along with his family and friends he came up with the ice bucket challenge as a creative way to get people excited about raising money for ALS research.
The social media craze sees people getting drenched in a chilly mixture of freezing cold water and ice cubes and a host of star have taken part including Oprah Winfrey and Matt Damon.
After gaining incredible momentum through social media during July and August, more than 3 million people around the world have joined in the challenge and raised more than $100 million for the ALS Association.
By comparison, the ALS Association raised $2.8 million during the same time period last year.
Pete Frates’ father John Frates told WCVB that the birth was 'the perfect ending to the miracle month of August.'
Frates wrote that baby Lucy's arrival was an ‘amazing blessing as the exclamation point to the miraculous month of August 2014!’

Before Pete Frates was diagnosed with ALS in 2012, he had been captain of Boston College Baseball
The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on someone's head to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research. It went viral on social media during July-August 2014. In the US, many people participate for theALS Association, and in the UK, many people participate for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, although some individuals have opted to donate their money from the Ice Bucket Challenge to other organizations.
The challenge dares nominated participants to be filmed having a bucket of ice water poured on their heads and then nominating others to do the same. A common stipulation is that nominated participants have 24 hours to comply or forfeit by way of a charitable financial donation.

Baby born with an upside-down head defied doctors to become an accountant and inspirational public speaker.

Resourceful: Claudio Vieira de Oliveira has a rare degenerative disease of the joints that has left him without the use of his limbs ... and an upside-down head

When Claudio Vieira de Oliveira was a baby, Medics told the now-37-year-old's mother to let him starve to death after he was born with a rare condition of the joints that left him with severely deformed limbs ... and an upside-down head.
But despite his physical limitations, Claudio, from Monte Santo, Brazil, has defied doctors' doubts to become an accountant and inspirational public speaker.

'Since I was a child I've always liked to keep myself busy and work - I don't like to depend totally on other people,' he said. 'I do a bit of accounting, research for clients and consulting.
'I have learned to turn on the TV, pick up my cell phone, turn on the radio, use the internet, my computer - I do it all by myself.'

Claudio types with a pen held in his mouth, operates phones and a computer mouse with his lips and has specially made shoes that allow him to shuffle around town.
His independence saw him succeeding at school and qualifying as an accountant from the State University of Feira de Santana.
When Claudio was born, doctors told his mother Maria Jose he would not be able to survive.
Maria Jose said: 'People started saying 'the baby is going to die' because he could barely breath when he was born.
'Some people would say: 'Don't feed him, he is already dying'.
'But there's only happiness now. Claudio is just like any other person - that's how he was raised in this house.
'We never tried to fix him and always wanted him to do the normal things everyone else does.
'That's why he is so confident. He is not ashamed of walking around in the street - he sings and he dances.'
At eight years old, Claudio, who had previously been carried everywhere, began to walk on his knees.

      WHAT IS ARTHROGRYPOSIS?

Congenital arthrogryposis is a rare condition that causes curved joints in several areas of the body at birth.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not a deformation of the joints themselves, but one of the tissue that surrounds them, thus fusing joints in place.
It is caused by a number of factors, including lack of space in the uterus, muscle abnormalities, nerve abnormalities, blood circulation problems and maternal illness.
The condition is present in about one in every 3,000 babies and is usually detected before birth.
Treatment options include physiotherapy, splinting and surgery.
His family had to change the floor of the house so he could walk around without injuring himself.
Claudio's bed, plugs and lights had to be made lower so that he could do things for himself without asking for help.
He cannot use a wheelchair because of his unusual shape, making it hard for him to be independent outside the home - but he begged his mother to be allowed to go to school and learn with the other children.
Doctors have recently diagnosed him with a rare condition called congenital arthrogryposis.
They believe he has multiple joint contractions in his legs and arms which mean they cannot extend properly.
Claudio said: 'Throughout my life I was able to adapt my body to the world. Right now, I don't see myself as being different. I am a normal person.
'I don't see things upside-down. This is one of the things I always talk about in my interventions as a public speaker.
'Nowadays it's much easier to deal with the public, I'm not afraid of it anymore and I can say that I am a professional, international public speaker and that I receive invitations from all over the world.'
He is not the only person with the disease who has refuse to let it overcome his life.
In February, MailOnline told the story of Leanne Beetham who became a celebrated photographer and artist whose paintings of wildlife - which she creates by holding a paintbrush in her mouth - have sold for hundreds of pounds.
Miss Beetham, who has a degree in applied animal behaviour, uses paint and graphite to make her images, which can take more than eight hours to complete at a sitting.
In 2006 one of her paintings was sold for £750 at Christies in London in aid of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Her exhibition last year in Hull raised money for the Withernsea RNLI, helping to replace equipment which had been stolen.
Claudio's story appears in Body Bizarre, which starts from September 4 on TLC.

Babysitter stabbed employer with knife for refusing sex with her

      Shakieria Anquanette Shan Long.
A 22-year-old Florida woman, Shakieria Anquanette Shan Long, stabbed a man in the neck earlier this month after he declined her requests to have sex, police allege.
Long, pictured above, was “barbecuing and drinking” with friends at a Fort Pierce home on August 12 when trouble began, according to a witness cited in a police report.
The witness said that he was lounging on a couch when Long and the victim, Eugene Sylvester, entered the residence. “The suspect was screaming that she wanted the victim to have sex with her,” cops reported. But Sylvester, 32, declined Long’s advances, telling her to “go back where she had been all day and have sex.”
Sylvester told cops that Long was his children’s babysitter.
Long, who is known as “Sha Sha,” subsequently followed Sylvester to his room, where she allegedly “grabbed a knife and started jabbing” at him with the weapon. She then beckoned the witness, telling him that she had stabbed Sylvester (and that he was “leaking”).
The witness told investigators that he pressed a towel to Sylvester’s neck and began walking him home. But Long ran after them and “started punching the victim in his face,” as first reported by TCPalm.
During police questioning, Sylvester--whose wound needed a few stitches--said he did not want to have sex with Long due to her heavy drinking. While confirming that Long stabbed him in the neck, Sylvester said that he did not want to press charges against her.
Collared for felony battery, Long was booked into the St. Lucie County jail, where she remains locked up. At the time of the stabbing, Long was free on $3750 bond in connection with a June 6 arrest for disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest, and battery on a law enforcement officer. That bond was cancelled following this month’s bust.

A brother and sister were arrested this morning in Effingham County after having sex with each other in a tractor trailer parked at a church.
Christopher Buckner, 20, of Guyton, and her brother, Timothy Savoy, 25, of Jackson, Ga., were arrested and charged with incest, aggravated sodomy and prowling, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Ehsanipoor, SavannahNow.com reports.
The spokesman said deputies answered a call at about 4:30 a.m. about a prowler in the area of Hester Road and Ga. 30, WJCL.com reports.
As deputies were checking the area, they saw a man and woman walking down the road. The male said he was walking the female back to her house.
Deputies determined that the pair were brother and sister and that they had just had sex in a Kenworth tractor trailer, which was parked at Countryside Baptist Church, Ehsanipoor said.
He said they admitted having sex three times after watching the movie, “The Notebook.”
They were being held in the Effingham County jail.

The trial of Caius Veiovis will begin on Sept. 3.

Caius Veiovis, a 33-year-old Springfield man, is accused of killing and dismembering David Glasser, Edward Frampton and Robert Chadwell in 2011 with the help of two other men.
His alleged accomplices, David Chalue and Adam Hall, are both serving life sentences.
Veiovis considers himself a worshipper of Satan, and told police he was a vampire who drinks the blood of others along with his own, Mass Live reported.
Along with a large septum piercing and the number 666 tattooed on his forehead, Veiovis also has body modifications in his head that resemble protruding horns. His lawyer, James G. Reardon Jr., told Mass Live he is worried his client's appearancemight make prospective jurors prejudiced.
The number 666 is often referred to as the "number of the beast."
"I don't know what 666 means," Reardon told the publication.
The three victims were kidnapped and murdered before they were set to testify against a high-ranking member of the Hell's Angels. More from Mass Live:
Police believe Hall, Chalue and Veiovis killed the three men to prevent Glasser from testifying in an upcoming trial against Hall, a ranking member of the Berkshire County chapter of the Hell's Angels. The organization's clubhouse is in Lee, just south of the Lenox town line.
Before taking on a new name, Veiovis was known as Roy C. Gutfinski Jr.
In 1999, Gutfinski and his girlfriend were sentenced to 10 years in jail after bringing a 16-year-old girl to a hotel room, slashing a 7-inch gash in her back, and drinking the girl's blood.
In 2006, he was charged with kidnapping two strippers from a nightclub and holding them against their will in a hotel room. Those charges were later dropped, but he was sent back to prison for violating his parole.
According to Raw Story, the weapons used in the murder and dismembering of the three men have never been identified.

Man connived with wife to rape and impregnate mentally disabled girl

      Jeremy and Amanda Swann

An Alabama couple who wanted a baby repeatedly sexually assaulted an underage girl in hopes she'd get pregnant and give them the infant, authorities said Monday.
Court records show Jeremy Swann, 29, and wife Amanda Swann, 28, both of the Jones community in rural Dallas County, were charged with rape.
District Attorney Michael Jackson said the man's mother also was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for allegedly knowing what was going on and failing to intervene.
A judge set their bonds at $500,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Sept. 9. None of the three has a defense attorney, Jackson said, and all three will likely receive a court-appointed lawyer.
Court records show that Amanda Swann tried to talk the mentally incapacitated girl into having sex with Jeremy Swann so she could get pregnant and have a child for them. Later, she watched as the man repeatedly assaulted the girl, according to a sworn statement from an investigator.
The girl screamed during the assaults, which occurred over the past month, and at least once the man gagged her with a ball to keep her quiet, the statement said. Amanda Swann did nothing "because she wanted (the victim) to have a baby for her," the document said.
The woman assisted the girl to the bathroom after each assault, according to the document.
The girl, whose age isn't disclosed in court documents, never got pregnant, Dallas County Investigator Janet Cole said in an interview.
Jeremy Swann's mother, 57-year-old Dianna Swann, lives with the couple and was present when the assaults occurred but didn't try to help the girl, Cole told the Selma Times-Journal (http://bit.ly/1l8tlpE ).
"She heard the girl screaming, and she did nothing," Cole said.
The charges resulted from a Department of Human Resources investigation that began after the couple sought legal custody of the girl, Cole said. The three were arrested last week.
