Navy SEAL who shot Bin Laden may go to jail for revealing military secrets

Last words: O'Neill called his dad and wrote his then-wife and children letters, believing Operation Neptune's Spear would be a one-way mission, either ending in his death or capture by the Pakistanis
O'Neill called his dad and wrote his then-wife and children letters, believing Operation Neptune's Spear would be a one-way mission, either ending in his death or capture by the Pakistanis
The Navy SEAL Team Six member who unveiled himself as the man who shot dead Osama bin Laden is reportedly being investigated by military police for leaking secrets.
Robert O'Neill, who came forward as the mystery shooter who killed the al-Qaeda leader during a 2011 raid, allegedly gave away crucial details of the mission and prompted a probe by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
He is suspected of leaking classified information, which could lead to criminal charges from the elite federal bureau, according to The Daily Beast.

On its website the NCIS says that it usually only investigates allegations that could lead to a year or more in prison.
O'Neill was repeatedly warned by Naval top brass not to go on air and speak about his participation in the secretive mission - but appeared anyway and spoke at length about his role.
He gave a long, two-part interview to Fox News in November as published by a Nigerian journalist and  blogger, Mr Ebere Inyama , in which he shot the late Osama Bin Laden in cold blood not minding the fact that the latter was unarmed and had shown no signs of resistance on that fateful day when he was surrounded by the American soldiers.
In that  interview with Fox News, O'Neill said: 'If it was light enough, I was the last person he saw. He was standing there two feet in front of me, hand on his wife, the face I’ve seen thousands of times. I thought, "We got him, we just ended the war."

O'Neill's  account, in which he fires three bullets into bin Laden's head and splits his skull, has been disputed by other SEAL sources, who say it is impossible to know who fired the fatal shot.

Another member of the elite Team Six, Matt Bissonnette, has also claimed to be the man who killed him, and wrote a book about his exploits.
Before the revelations, SEAL high command distributed a letter urging current and former officers to stick to their non-disclosure agreements.
Rear Admiral Brian Losey, the commander of the Naval Special Warfare Group, wrote: 'At Naval Special Warfare's core is the SEAL ethos.
'A critical tenant of our ethos is "I do not advertise the nature of my work, nor seek recognition for my actions."
'Violators of our Ethos are neither Temmates in good standing, not Teammates who represent Naval Special Warfare.
'We do not abide willful or selfish disregard for our core values in return for public notoriety and financial gain, which only diminishes otherwise honorable service, courage and sacrifice.
'Under investigation': According to reports, bin Laden shooter Robert O'Neill is being investigated
Robert O'Neill
'Our credibility as a premier fighting force is forged in this sacrifice and has been accomplished with honor, as well as humility.'

Father raped 8yr-old daughter to death - FBI

Hiawatha Robinson, left, has been arrested on murder and sodomy charges in the death of his eight-year-old daughter Hiawayi, right, who was found killed in Prichard, Alabama in September

A father who pleaded with the public for help finding his eight-year-old daughter after she went missing in September has been arrested for killing her.
Hiawayi Robinson, who was found dead behind an abandoned building in Prichard, Alabama two days after she went missing, died as she was being sexually abused by her father, authorities said.
Hiawatha Robinson, 38, was arrested on charges of first-degree sodomy and murder on Tuesday afternoon, and if convicted, he faces up to life in prison for each charge. More than 90 percent of AL.com readers who responded to a recent poll on the charges filed against Hiawatha Robinson supported upgrading the charges to capital murder.
The arrest of Robinson was veiled in secrecy, according to media sources.  A covert arrest was "clearly done to protect Hiawatha Robinson's safety," according to WKRG-TV.

Robinson took a high-profile with the media since the September disappearance of his daughter. He appeared at press conferences and searches for the girl.

He even promised to "walk the soles off his shoes" in his searches for the 3rd grade school girl.

Now, Robinson is being held in protective custody in Mobile's Metro Jail.

'The facts will show that while engaging in sodomy in the first degree, Hiawatha Robinson Jr. caused the death of Hiawayi Robinson,' Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich said while announcing the charges at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.

After she was reported missing, the authorities and the community searched for her, and her parents, who are separated, appeared on television to appeal for information.
'I'm going through pain,' Robinson told Fox10 as he stood beside her mother, Yosha Populus.

When asked what he thought might have happened to her, he said: 'Nothing.''I've been up for the last 24 hours, I've been up all night searching for her - ain't had anything to eat, anything to drink, I ain't going to stop until it's over with - until she's in her home. That's all I want, that's all I ask for.'
'I don't believe nothing happened to her,' he said. 'I believe she's out there. She's out there. They just need to let her come home. Her daddy gonna find out what the f*** going on.'
Her mother also pleaded for information as she stood beside the girl's father.

After the arrest was announced, Populus's godfather, Kourney Adams, told Al.com: 'She's been praying it wouldn't be him.'
But he added that they were thankful that finally someone has been arrested.
'We thought they had given up,' he said. 'Thank you to the FBI and the Mobile and the city of Prichard for doing their job.'
State Representative Napoleon Bracy, who helped search for Hiawayi, expressed his shock.
'He came out there saying he wanted to volunteer to help look for her,' he said. 'He came out there and acted like he was trying to help us search for her, and he knew the community was hurting.'

Desperate: The girl's mother, Yosha Populus, also pleaded for the girl's return while Robinson stayed largely quiet. When asked what he thought had happened to her, he said: 'Nothing'
The girl's mother, Yosha Populus, also pleaded for the girl's return while Robinson stayed largely quiet.

He was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail around 12.50 p.m. on Tuesday.
Authorities had searched his home in October and then his girlfriend's home, although they would not elaborate on what they found. Rich said she did not expect any additional arrests in the case.
It comes exactly three months after Hiawayi was reported missing on September 16.
Her father had claimed she had returned to his home after school to change before heading out to her aunt's house - but she never arrived.
In Alabama, the charge means someone is accused of engaging in 'deviant sexual intercourse' with someone under the age of 12, AL.com reported.
'Deviant sexual intercourse is defined in the law of the state of Alabama as sexual gratification involving the sexual organs of one person and the mouth or the anus of another person,' Rich said.
Rich would not say whether the alleged abuse by the father had been ongoing, Al.com reported.

Dog accidentally shoots man with rifle

A Wyoming man is recovering in the hospital after his dog accidentally shot him. In a phone interview on Thursday, Johnson County Sheriff Steve Kozisek confirmed that Richard L. Fipps, 46, was hospitalized Monday after his dog stepped on a loaded rifle in the bed of his pickup truck and accidentally fired it. The rifle's safety was off, Kozisek said.
According to Big Horn Mountain Radio, Fipps was removing snow chains from his truck when he was shot in the left arm."The rifle was loaded and in the bed of the truck [with some other gear], and the dog hopped up there and either stepped on it or caused something to move and set it off," Kozisek told the Huffington Post.
Fipps transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital via ambulance. His condition was not released, but his injuries were not life threatening, according to Big Horn Mountain Radio.

Kozisek said that the accident could have easily been prevented, had the gun not been loaded.
"Carrying a loaded rifle in a truck is never a good idea, safety on or safety off," Kozisek said.
The sheriff, who has worked in law enforcement for 42 years, said he'd never seen a case where a dog shot a man. However, it has happened before -- in Florida.

'I feel like a nasty yucky monster', says 24 yr-old woman who weighs 660lbs

Housebound: Amber, 24, from Troutdale, Oregon, (pictured) will be first to appear on season three of TLC's My 600-lb Life. She weighs 660lbs and is unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes at a time
Amber, 24, from Troutdale, Oregon, (pictured)

TLC's My 600-lb Life is back with its third season next month, and its first subject is so morbidly obese, she is unable to stand or walk for more than a few minutes at a time.
At only 24 years old, Amber, from Troutdale, Oregon, weighs 660lbs and lives at home with her parents and boyfriend of two years. She says she feels like 'a nasty yucky monster.'
Amber, who will undergo high-risk gastric bypass surgery as part of the series, fears she will 'never be able to change' by herself. She suffers from pain in her back and her shins, and must bathe sitting over a toilet.
Amber, who admits she is 'killing herself' with her over-eating, dropped out of Portland State University and quit her job a while ago, but hopes having surgery will allow her to return to her education.
'I feel trapped,' she says. 'I feel miserable. I feel like I have failed myself and my parents.'
The hit reality series will also follow the lives of seven other morbidly obese individuals as they undergo gastric bypass surgery in a bid to shed the weight that has rendered most of them housebound for years.
One thing all the subjects have in common, aside from their weight struggles, is at least one traumatic childhood event they point to as a cause.

Susan is a 37-year-old woman who has never lived on her own. She weighs almost 600lbs and resides at home in Eddy, Texas, with her mother, who is her caretaker and enabler.
Susan traces her weight issues back to the divorce of her parents as a young child, which triggered depression and 'trust issues.'

Pauline, 50, from Sacramento, California, also attributes the start of her problems with food to her parents' divorce, after which she says she did not get enough to eat.According to TLC, Susan's life consists of work, the fast food drive-thru, and sitting in her trailer, and she no longer feels comfortable going out in public.
After her parents reconciled, food was suddenly plentiful again, but Pauline found she 'didn't know when to stop eating' and had ballooned to over 200lbs by the age of 12.
By the time she was married, Pauline weighed 500lbs and since her divorce, she has climbed to nearly 700lbs.

Bettie Jo is 24 and lives in Potosi, Missouri with her husband of four years, Josh. Bettie Joe is eager to start a family but at nearly 700lbs, is unable to.
She is confined to a chair in her living room and her weight is a constant source of conflict between her and Josh, who is described as her Jo's 'primary caretaker rather than romantic partner.'
Laura, 40, from San Antonio, Texas, has been gaining weight all her life and now at 554lbs is 'close to giving up.' She too is confined to her chair due to lymphedema - a chronic swelling of the body tissue - and skin ulcers.
Because her husband has multiple sclerosis, neither can properly care for one another, so they live with Laura's parents.
Angel is 42 and lives in Kerville, Texas. She grew up 'thin and gangly' but began to put on weight when she was forced by her mother to give up her baby at the age of 14.
She had her second child when she was 20 and weighed 300lbs. After the death of her father and the birth of her third child, Angel fell into a deep depression and 'ate herself into oblivion.'
She now weighs 596lbs, is nearly immobile and her boyfriend Donnie feels she has 'shut herself off from life.'

Charity, 38 from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has been overweight since the age of five, having been physically and emotionally abused throughout her childhood.
She gave birth to her daughter Charley at the age of 19, who became her mother's caregiver when she was only eight. Charley and her boyfriend now share the care taking duties of Charity, who weighs 787lbs.
Joe, the only male subject to appear in the upcoming series, is 31 and lives in Johnson City, Tennessee. He weighs 802lbs and was 'a chunky baby and a picky eater as a child, who eschewed all vegetables.'
Joe recently lost his job in IT and now eats, sleeps and lives in the same living room chair 24 hours a day. He is completely immobile and unable to bathe himself, and like the rest of TLC's subjects, desperately hopes he can win his life back after undergoing surgery.

Wife held 11 yr-old down on bed while husband raped her

Carolee Hickman, 64, allegedly told the schoolgirl she was a part of a powerful witches' coven and forced her to have sex with her 65-year-old husband Albert (pictured together outside Cardiff court)
A 64 yr-old woman held an 11 yr-old girl down on a bed while her husband raped her, a court has heard.
Carolee Hickman, 64, from St Athan near Cardiff, allegedly told the schoolgirl that she was a part of a powerful witches' coven and forced her to have sex with her 65-year-old husband Albert.
The victim, now in her 50s, said the horror of what happened to her while at school had been buried for 40 years, before her memories resurfaced.
The woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, said she went to the Hickman's home aged 11 while skipping school with friends.
The couple allegedly gave the girl and her friends 'pagan crosses' to wear before plying them with cigarettes and alcohol.
The alleged victim said: 'She told me she was a member of a coven and moved on to kissing me, then touching me and me touching her, both of us naked in bed together.
'I was on the bed when she held my arms while he [Albert Hickman] raped me.'
'I remembered darkness and suffocating because a man was on top of me and a woman was holding me down,'.
'She was controlled by a fear that she must not tell anyone.'

She told the court: 'Carolee said she was a witch and would come and get me and would make my mother ill - she even said she could kill my mother if she wanted to.
'She had a knife with a jewelled handle kept in a wooden box with carvings on the top. She cut my hand and sucked the blood out of it.

Cardiff Crown Court heard how her fear about what could happen made her return to the house over and over again.
Speaking through tears, she said: 'I didn't want to go and be raped daily by her - I was too frightened not to go.'
She said the abuse came back to her bit by bit when she started having counselling following a series of family tragedies, including bereavements and cancer.
Her counsellor said alarm bells rang for her when the woman talked of a dark cloud hanging over her, not just since the illnesses and deaths as you would expect, but for 40 years.
'I asked about her childhood but she could remember very little', the counsellor said.
'I would ask her to try to think back - it was her choice - but she was so frightened she didn't want to look there.
'She knew she lived under a black cloud but was petrified of finding out why.'
Eventually she did think back, it was said, and the first returning memories were of black magic, pornography and a woman.
The alleged victim added: 'I don't know how the brain works, how it gets rid of bad things but I remembered nothing - apart from over the years, every now and again Carolee's name would pop into my mind and I would feel frightened.'
Barristers for the couple suggested that any talk of the occult from Mrs Hickman to the schoolgirl and her friends, would have only been about thriller writer Dennis Wheatley.
'She did talk about him but what happened was nothing to do with Dennis Wheatley - it was her doing these things to me,' the alleged victim said.
Mr Hickman is accused of raping the girl during the encounter set up by his wife, at their home.
The jury heard how they also discussed black magic and did tarot card readings with the girl.
Hickman, who used to work for the RAF, is accused of rape while his wife is charged with indecent assault and aiding and abetting rape.
The couple both deny the allegations which date between 1972 and 1975.
The trial continues.

Church of England names Libby Lane as first female bishop

Rev Libby Lane
Rev Libby Lane has been named as the first female Bishop in the Church of England.

The historic move comes a month after the General Synod in York approved legislation to elevate women to the position and 20 years after the first women were ordained as priests.
It marks a dramatic change in the Church of England and comes as it was revealed the Government is planning to introduce legislation tomorrow to Parliament to allow female bishops into the House of Lords.

Rev Lane said she was excited by the possibilities

Rev Libby Lane comes from an Anglican, but not particularly church-going, family. She became interested in the church after attending a small Anglican church community in rural Derbyshire.
studied theology at St Peter's College, Oxford, where she met her husband.
She trained for the ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham. The 48-year-old was ordained as a deacon in 1993 and a priest in 1994 - the first year that women were ordained into the priesthood. Mrs Lane was ordained with her husband and they were one of the first married couples to do so.
She has held a number of roles in the north of England in the dioceses of Blackburn, York and Chester.
She was team Vicar in the Stockport South West Team and Assistant Diocesan Director of Ordinands in the Diocese of Chester.
Rev Lane has been vicar at Hale in Greater Manchester and Ashley in Cheshire since 2007.
She is married to the Rev George Lane, coordinating chaplain at Manchester Airport. They were one of the first married couples in the Church of England to be ordained together.
The couple have two children, Connie, 20, and Benedict, 18.
Her interests include being a school governor, encouraging social action initiatives, learning to play the saxophone, supporting Manchester United, reading and doing cryptic crosswords.
Mrs Lane was originally part of a committee tasked to find a candidate for the bishopric but was invited to apply herself following the vote in the Synod last month.
She will be consecrated as the Bishop of Stockport on January 26 at York Minster.
Her position at the Bishop of Stockport makes her an assistant in the Chester Diocese.
But because the post is fairly junior she will not be allowed to sit in the House of Lords.

Rev Lane, 48, said she was grateful for the opportunity but admitted she was 'somewhat daunted' by the position.
Speaking with journalists after her nomination, she said: 'On this historic day as the Church of England announces the first woman nominated to be Bishop, I am very conscious of all those who have gone before me, women and men, who for decades have looked forward to this moment. But most of all I am thankful to God.'
'Today, I pray that it will not be simply about this one woman called to a new ministry in the Church but, much more than that, an opportunity to acknowledge all that has gone before and to look ahead to what is still to be done.'
A round of applause erupted in Stockport Town Hall as the official announcement was made this morning.
She added: 'I know there will be those rejoicing, and there will be those who have been distressed and disturbed by today's announcement.
'I'm committed to the Church's principles of mutual flourishing, and that my ministry will serve all those, churches and people in this diocese, whatever their views.
'And I pray that we will find our common ground so that we can come together.'

Responding, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby, said: 'I am absolutely delighted that Libby has been appointed to succeed Bishop Robert Atwell as Bishop of Stockport.
'Her Christ-centred life, calmness and clear determination to serve the church and the community make her a wonderful choice.'
He had previously said the church was entering a 'completely new phase' and that half of bishops could be women in 15 years.
Prime Minister David Cameron said: 'Congratulations to the Rev Libby Lane on becoming the first woman bishop in the Church. An historic appointment and important day for equality.'

Mrs Lane, who was educated at Oxford, and trained for the ministry at Cranmer Hall, Durham. She is married to Rev George Lane, co-ordinating chaplain at Manchester Airport and is a mother of two.
The announcement follows more than 30 years of moves to get women appointed to positions in the Church of England.

YEARS OF WRANGLES AND DISSENT TO ALLOW WOMEN TO PLAY GREATER ROLES IN THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND WHICH COULD SEE THEM IN THE LORDS

The path to appoint the first Bishop for the Church of England has not been a smooth one.
Moves to make women part of the church began in 1975 when the General Synod found there was no objection for women to become ordained as priests.
In 1978 this was voted down.
Women were allowed to become deacons after a successful vote in 1985.
In 1992 the Church voted to allow women to become ordained as priests.
Two years later, in 1994, the first 1,500 women were ordained.
In 2005 a motion to allow women to become bishops was approved.
But this was defeated in 2012 when a vote to make this legislation failed.
In November 2014 the General Synod passed the vote, paving the way for Rev Lane to become the Church of England's first woman bishop.
On December 17 Rev Libby Lane, a parish priest from Cheshire, was announced as the first woman Bishop.
Her appointment is expected to be one of a number of dramatic changes in the Church of England being announced this month that will transform the role of females in the church.
A bill is expected to be presented to Parliament on Thursday to suspend the current rules which governs appointments of bishops to the Lords for 10 years.
The Government hopes this will allow them to sidestep the current process of appointing Bishops to the House of Lords, which is decided on the basis of length of service. They want to allow women to be fast-tracked to sit in the upper chamber and to be given priority if an opening comes up in the House of Lords in a form of positive discrimination.
It is hoped this could happen by as early as next year and the move has been backed by the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Labour.

Man murdered step-daughter and had sex with her corpse

Alleged necrophiliac: Gregory Graf recorded himself sexually abusing the body of Jessica Padgett, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said on Friday
Gregory Graf

A 53 yr-old man, Gregory Graf is in police custody after he allegedly shot his stepdaughter an had sex with her corpse.
Graf recorded himself sexually abusing the body of Jessica Padgett, Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said on Friday. The video was discovered a day earlier on Graf's computer, the prosecutor said.
Padgett, 33, was last seen alive on Nov. 21, when she left work at a day care center. Graf was arrested five days later after police found her body buried behind a shed on the property where he lives with Padgett's mother.

Police say that the shooting happened around 10 minutes after she was last seen, though her body wasn't recovered until five days later.
Morganelli has said Graf also had a marijuana-growing space at his house that was discovered by police as they searched for Padgett.
Police seized 13 bags of marijuana and also confiscated $42,000 in cash and envelopes containing marijuana seeds from in a safe in the basement of Graf's home. \
Graf's Facebook account indicates he has a love of hunting animals and has killed quite a few.
Graf is being held without bail on a homicide charge. The fencing company owner confessed to killing Padgett, a recently married mother of three, according to Morganelli.
The victim's family said in a statement last month that Padgett 'was a beautiful, vibrant young woman who was beloved by her family and friends. The world shines less bright today.'

Graf applied for a public defender, saying in court Friday that he didn't want to burden his family financially. A judge turned him down, ruling he had enough money to pay for his own defense.
'Like I said, I just don't want to take away the funds from the family,' said Graf, the owner of a fencing company.
'You're not going to be able to escape paying for the resources of an attorney,' Judge Stephen Baratta told Graf
'I just can't allow that.'
Morganelli said Graf will be charged with abuse of a corpse.

Killed: Padgett,  a 33-year-old mother of three, was last seen alive on November 21, when she left work at a day care center and her dead body was found in a shed five days later

'He videotaped it,' Morganelli told Philly.com.
'So there's a videotape of him abusing the corpse sexually.'
Morganelli said he believes that Graf took his stepdaughter's life in order to abuse her as a corpse.
'I believe it was a direct motive, in my opinion,' Morganelli said, 'and that's what we're going to be arguing.'
Because the alleged abuse occurred after Padgett was killed Morganelli will not be able to seek the death penalty.
Philly.com reports that under Pennsylvania law Rape and murder allow prosecutors to purse capital charges but sexual desecration of a corpse does not.

British Censors ban face-sitting, spanking, fisting and other sex acts from online porn

Lawmakers in the United Kingdom have deemed face-sitting to be a "life-endangering" act worthy of censorship, the Independent reports.
It's just one of many sex acts that are now banned from porn produced in the UK.
The website reports that a quietly passed amendment that censors on-demand porn enacted Monday takes aim at a slew of sex acts that are often featured in BDSM films. The sex acts were already banned from sex-shop DVDs produced in the UK, but the new legislation extends censorship to online porn.
The following sex acts are now banned from British porn, according to the Independent:

  • Spanking
  • Caning
  • Aggressive whipping
  • Penetration by any object "associated with violence"
  • Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of if consensual)
  • Urolagnia (known as "water sports")
  • Female ejaculation
  • Strangulation
  • Facesitting
  • Fisting
"It's a set of weird and arbitrary censorship rules," Jerry Barnett, the founder of anti-censorship campaign Sex and Censorship, told Vice UK. "They're simply a set of moral judgments designed by people who have struggled endlessly to stop the British people from watching pornography."
The interest groups behind the legislation are police, child protective services, and the British Board of Film Censors, Barnett said.
The Independent points out that "worryingly, the amendment seems to take issue with acts from which women more traditionally derive pleasure than men."
But there may be a loophole. Since the law appears to apply only to porn produced in the UK, people with fetishes for these sex acts can probably still stream smut that's made overseas.
If L.A.'s mandatory condom laws didn't stop Southern California from making porn (albeit unlicensed, underground porn), then censoring pee parties and facesitting likely won't stop Brits from watching.
